The GROUPS HISTORY
In 2003, saw the inception of the existing group with the founding of LAMPRECHT PROPERTIES CC. in the Eastern Cape.
Prior to that, the founding and managing member, Braam Lamprecht, was a significant shareholder in a Johannesburg Based company which was incorporated some 21 years ago. That entity had commenced its activity in the “Turn Key” construction industry, sourcing contracts from Tenders and undertaking assignments for various clients on a negotiated contract basis. This activity soon progressed to the development and owning of a property portfolio which happened to be also managed in house. These developments were conceived on the basis of specific needs and requirements of certain prospective tenants and constructed to their specifications. Those entities included the likes of Honda, Daewoo, Mobil (Johannesburg and Durban) and LTA / Grinaker. All spheres of the process including construction to the structural steel work and project management were undertaken by the original construction and steel companies.
Over the next couple of years a sizable portfolio of A and B grade Commercial Office buildings and Industrial properties had accumulated. The Holding Company within that group owned and managed a portfolio of R550 million in the Midrand and Sandton areas alone.
Soon the activities spread to the Western Cape Region with properties in Cape Town contributing to a total holding of properties in excess of R650 Million.
The group then dissolved when the portfolio was sold onto a listed entity and the individual shareholders went their separate ways. Braam Lamprecht settled in Jeffrey’s Bay and formed Lamprecht Properties CC in March of 2003. Since then a formidable team of professionals under his leadership where engaged to cover the full spectrum of project development. This included Construction, Quantity Surveying, Architectural design and financial control and administration. This growing group has since accomplished notoriety for being one of the biggest developers in the region and has been built on the strict foundation of the groups “Principles and Values” which are firmly entrenched and inculcated in the Teams approach.
